James Watson

DL21 – monthly Sunday 10-midnight

Mr Watson, James when not DJing has been collecting records since he was a kid. He started DJing around 18 with his mates in Oxfordshire. He roadied for lots of local Oxford bands and went on to roadie and DJ at after parties for Radiohead, Ride and Supergrass amongst others.

He’s played in Manchester, Newcastle and London. His main vice is Acid Jazz and Disco but he loves Soul, Funk, Jazzy Drum and Bass and Hip Hop amongst lots of other genres.
He regularly dropped vinyl at Darlington’s Voodoo for over 5 years. He has played at The Hooch in Newcastle many times.
Tbf, he’ll play records anywhere and can easily be bribed with a Diet Coke and some fresh lime.

James has hosted many events in the town he loves; Darlington, whether it be as his other alias as Darlington Film Club @ The Forum or at the regular Garden Parties in town.

Now enjoying producing his ‘DL21 with Mr Watson’ bi-weekly show on Method Radio and monthly on The Face Radio, James uses his DJ slots to spread the love.
