Spacelab – monthly Thursday 10pm / Sunday 8am

DJ, Producer, Promoter and Broadcaster of 35 years plus, Dave has had a glittering career as predominantly a house DJ based in South Wales.

He was destined to be a DJ from a young age with a passion for music especially electronic music of the late 70’s (Moroder, Kraftwerk, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Human League and Yello) and early 80’s (New Order, Freeze, Whodini and Depeche Mode).

Dave dropped onto the exploding Acid House scene early and was soon promoting warehouse parties and club nights in and around Cardiff.

During the 90’s his career developed with high profiled residencies at Time Flies, Escape Club Swansea, Frisky Swindon amongst others. He also guested at clubs like Ministry Of Sound, Miss Moneypennies, Hard Times, Back To Basics, Club UK and Wobble.

In 1998 he started promoting the American house influenced Lamerica nights in Cardiff showcasing the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega and Tony Humphries.

After a sabbatical Dave returned to Djing in 2015 and started producing alongside his close friend Sean McCabe under the Motion Seven guise with several releases on Sean’s prolific Good Vibrations Recordings out of Bristol.

Dave’s love of radio and a desire to host his own radio show he formed the Spacelab Podcast in 2020 just prior to lockdown and it proved a timely exercise where his show was a happy escape to those forced to stay at home. A host of a list DJs have played on the show and within twelve months was hosting a show on Thames FM too.

Dave is really excited about the opportunity he has with Soul Roots Radio to develop the Spacelab show and sound and will showcase the best of tomorrows sounds and DJs.
